The Education for All Handicapped Children Act

. The Individuals with Disabilities Education Act

The Assistive Technology Act

The Handicapped Children’s Protection Act

The Special Education Referral Process gathers enough information to determine whether a student has a disability, documents how the disability affects the student's academic or behavioral performance in school, and provides the necessary information for developing an IEP if the student is eligible.

RTI

The response to intervention (RTI) structure was utilized to help kids improve their math skills. RTI is a logical system of data-driven decision-making that allows districts, schools, and teachers to assess the effectiveness of ongoing mathematics instruction and develop a systematic plan to accelerate math learning for all students, including those at risk of failing without intervention.

Universal screening and progress monitoring are the two types of assessments utilized in RTI. Providing an assessment to all pupils in the classroom is universal screening. This assessment aims to discover which children are performing at grade level and which pupils struggle in a particular subject area. Progress Monitoring is a type of assessment in which students' learning is examined regularly to offer both students and teachers meaningful feedback on performance. The main goal of RTI progress tracking is to figure out which pupils aren't responding well to teaching.

Teachers should be monitored for RTI component implementation by designated school officials. If a teacher is not implementing RTI correctly, you can retrain them and provide them with further help.
