Sports magazine

This year you will make your own beautiful, colourful and readable English sports magazine. You are going to fill it with items of your own interest and a few compulsory (= verplichte) items. There are a lot of items you can write about:

- A particular sport

- Health

- Nutrition

- (famous) teams or individual sporters

It must turn into a sports magazine you yourself would like to buy and read!

Criteria sports magazine

The following items are compulsory:

1) Cover (= voorblad)

2) Index / table of contents

3) Editorial (= voorwoord)

4) Advertisement about a new product you made up  This can be a new drink (energy booster) or something to eat. It can also be an item you use for sports; special glasses or shoes or a stopwatch or ….. ( 1 page – picture with description)

5) 3 articles about items of your choice (every article is 1 A4 long, written in English and magazine-like: so, picures included. Every article has a minimum of 300 words) This article could give your vision on: movement / motivation / groups / nutrition / dieting / professional sports …..

6) Interview: write an interesting interview for the sports magazine. Interview a classmate/teacher/coach and ask at least 10 interesting questions about something he/she is good at.

Tell Sell / Tommy Teleshopping opdracht

You are going to make a Tell Sell commercial of 4 minutes (when working in pairs)

What is a Tell Sell commercial?

Simply put, Tell Sell is a selling method where the customer order is placed over the phone (or via email or online ordering). This saves time and travel for the route sales team by eliminating the need to physically call on the account.

_Criteria:

■ You have to talk English

■ Work in pairs

■ A product or service

■ The commercial has to be at least 4 minutes

■ Each person has to say something.

■ Hand it in on You Tube or We Transfer (don’t email me the movie or it will be removed)

Some tips:

■ Be over enthusiastic.

■ Use words like: amazing, awesome, it really works, fantastic, unbelievable etc.

■ Always have a special offer for today.

 example: “If you buy one pair of… today, you will get another pair for free”

Or

“Only today you will get a discount of 50% when you buy this….

■ Mention which way people can reach you

Example: “Call 911 to place your order” Call 12345 if you want to order your set for today”

Important

All these assignments have to be handed in on time and be graded with a sufficient (voldoende).

When both are sufficient you will have dispensation for the english classes in the third year. (1 period)

When both are sufficient you will also have a GO for the exams speaking and conversations.
