- You use "if" if you are not sure about something
- You use "when" if you are quite sure something will happen

Definite vs. Indefinite Pronouns
- Definite pronouns refer to something/someone specific.
- Indefinite pronouns do not refer to a particular person, place or thing. 
- Find the indefinite pronoun:
1. Nobody is interested in the lectures.
2. Everyone is excited for Shimla trip.
3. Only few know the history of this place.
4. Each one of you will get a chance to play.

Indefinite pronouns: Some/Any
  • You use "some" in affirmative sentences:
  • "There was some money left"
  • You use "any" in questions or negative sentences
  • "Was there any money left?"
  • "There wasn't any money left"
  • Someone/anyone -> people
  • Somewhere/anywhere -> places
  • something/anything -> things

  •  You can use also use some in questions, but only if you know the answer will be affirmative
  • Would you like to have some more information?
  • Can you send me some family pictures?
  • Some = een of andere
  • She gave me some CD with Irish Folk music
  • Some + getal = ongeveer
  • I paid some 8000 euros for my car

  •  Any = elke (wie/welke/wat dan ook)
  • Ask any doctor
  • You can stay with us any weekend vs. you can stay with us every weekend
  • Bijna + niet/niemand/nergens
  • Hardly + anything/anyone/anywhere
  • He has been hardly anywhere

  •  Both/either/neither/each/every/no/none
  • mix and match exercise.
  • Match the indefinite pronouns to the right translation.
  • Start with the ones you are sure about.
  • If you feel it is difficult, try to think of a sentence in which they are used.
