Prefixes and suffixes

Prefixes are letters you can add infront of a word to change the meaning of the word.

Suffixes are letters you can add after a word to change the meaning of the word.

Prefixes and suffixes

Un-: 'Not' or 'the opposite', also used for canceling an action

Re-: 'Again'

-Er: A person doing something, or for comparison

-Ful: Having a certain characteristic

-Less: Without

-Ing: Products of actions

Passive voice meaning

You can use the passive if you want to focus on the action itself, and not on the person performing an action.

Forming the passive voice

To make a passive sentence, you use a form of to be + the past participle of the verb.

What: complete chapter 5E and 5I
