Designing small spaces

  During this project you will:

• learn how to be creative when designing for small spaces.
• learn useful vocabulary about bathrooms and making price lists for quotations. 
  
  
• Assignments
• create a floor plan + price list for a small bathroom
• present your floor plan + design choices to a small group of classmates, and answer questions about your design.

Introduction

You have been working on the price list for the small bathroom, based on the floor plan you've created earlier.

Today, you and your classmates will give feedback on eachother's price list.

During the bathroom project, students will be working with an imaginary client/ client's wishes when designing a bathroom.

Today  the students will look at eachothers price list and provide feedback.

Check if your classmate's price list meets these requirements:

• easy to read, all in English
  
• a clear description for each item + amount of items
• a unit price per item, including VAT (=BTW)
• a grand total/ total amount
  in bold (=dikgedrukt), including VAT (=BTW)
• a contingency budget

Last week you also had to answer some questions:

• What did your client request for their bathroom?
• Why did you make these choices for your design?
• What makes your design work so well?  
• Have you included a contingency budget? Why (not)?

Take your floor plan from the previous classes and prepare to talk about your design choices and the costs (price list).
You will be presenting your bathroom design to a few clasmates during the next class.               (time: 3-4 minutes)

ASSIGNMENT

When designing, keep in mind:

• the plumbing
  (purple areas)
• the essential items
• the details
• the tiling
• clearance
