• Ik herken de verleden tijd. Ik kan onderscheid maken tussen een past simple en een past continuous. 
• Ik weet wanneer iets een momentopname was of wanneer iets langer heeft geduurd in het verleden.
• Ik weet hoe en wanneer ik de past continuous en de past simple moet toepassen.

Past Continuous

Wanneer je in het verleden            = past

iets aan het doen was       = continuous

I was walking home yesterday.

We were having fun last week.

Past Continous en Past Simple

Past Continuous = aan de gang in het verleden (waren aan het..., zaten te...)

Past Simple = iets gebeurde op een bepaald moment in het verleden

Je gebruikt ze vaak samen. 

I was walking the dog when it started to rain.

Bob was fixing his bike when his mom called.

She was walking to school, when her phone rang.

I was drinking some tea, when my husband was working.
