Goal of this lesson:

I can use a variety of forms to talk about the future

Future continuous - form

will + be + -ing form

John will be working.

Future continuous - use

To talk about actions in progress at a time in the future.

Often fixed or expected future events.

Example: At 11.00 a.m. tomorrow, I'll be doing an exam.

Also used for polite questions: What kind of people will you be looking for?

Future perfect simple - form

will + have + verb + ed

She will have worked.

Future perfect simple - use

To talk about an action that will be completed before a certain time in the future.

By 11 a.m. in the morning, I will have done the exam.

Future perfect  continuous - form

will + have been + verb + -ing

She will have been working.

Future perfect continuous - use

To talk about how long an action will have been in progress before a certain time in the future. 

By 11 a.m. in the morning, I'll have been doing an exam for an hour.

Notice that the focus is different

Future perfect simple

By 10 pm I'll have done my homework. 

Focus is on the action that is completed.

Focus is different part 2

Future perfect continuous

By 10 p.m. I'll have been doing my homework for 2 hours.

Focus is on the time, on how long the action will have been in progress for.
