betekenis: 

een paar / een beetje / enkele

But when to use what? 

When do you use: some (something/ somebody/ somewhere..)

When do you use: any (anything/ anybody/ anywhere..)                 

SOME • when to use it? 

1. In bevestigende / positieve zinnen

   We bought some flowers

2. In een vraag als je verwacht dat het 

   antwoord "ja" is

   Can I have some water please?

3. Bij een aanbod of verzoek

   Would you like some tea?

   

    

 

ANY • when to use it?

1. In ontkennende / negatieve zinnen

2. In vraagzinnen - waarvan het antwoord 

     nog niet zeker is

     Do you have any luggage?

                          Maybe, maybe not.

We didn't buy any flowers.

They arrived without any delay.

Bij vraagzinnen: hoe maak je duidelijk aan de leerlingen om welke zinnen het gaat. Aangezien vraagzinnen ook some kunnen bevatten. 

COMBINING SOME & ANY

Some and any kunnen ook in andere vormen voorkomen:

• Somebody -- anybody
• Something -- anything
• Someone -- anyone
• Somewhere -- anywhere 

Hierbij wordt de betekenis: iemand, ergens 

of iets en de regels blijven hetzelfde :)

• Bepaal of het bezittelijk voornaamwoord vóór het zelfstandig naamwoord waarnaar het verwijst in de zin staat of dat dat niet zo is.

• Bepaal of je een enkelvoudsvorm of meervoudsvorm moet gebruiken.

• Bepaal welk bezittelijk voornaam woord je precies moet gebruiken.

use: 

something was going on/ happening in the past

(het was dus in het verleden aan de gang)

form: 

past tense to be, so:  was / were + verb~ing

How do we make the past continuous?

past tense of to be + verb~ing

I was walking

you were walking

he, she, it was walking

we were walking

you were walking

they were walking

Translate: Ik was aan het schoonmaken

Jij was aan het schoonmaken

Hij was aan het schoonmaken

Wij waren aan het schoonmaken
