The Future

The Future = toekomende tijd

Je kunt op verschillende manieren aan geven dat iets in de toekomst gaat gebeuren.

I am going to play a match tomorrow

It will be sunny next week.

The future met am/ is/ are going to.

Je gebruikt am / is / are in de toekomende tijd als:

* iemand is in de toekomst iets van plan. ( in het Nederlands gebruiken we vaak ' gaan'.

We are going to watch a film tonight.

we gaan vanavond een film kijken.

* je een voorspelling doet en je weet zeker dat het gaat gebeuren ( je hebt 'bewijs')

Look at those clouds , it's going to rain.

      'bewijs'

Vragen 

De vragende vorm maak je door am / is / are vooraan in de zin te zetten

We are going to watch a film tonight.

Are we going to watch a film tonight?

Look at those clouds, it is going to rain.

Look at those clouds, is it going to rain ?

The future met will

Je gebruikt will + hele werkwoord in de toekomende tijd:

* om iets aan te bieden

* beloftes

* aankondiging

* besluit

* voorspelling zonder ' bewijs' . 

I will call you tomorrow, I promise!                               I think you will win the first prize.

Vragen

De vragende vorm maak je door will vooraan in de zin te zetten

They will be there on time.

Will they be there on time. 

Let op: bij I en we gebruik je shall in plaats van will.

I will call you tomorrow.

Shall I call you tomorrow ?

Je kunt will not afkorten tot won't.
