Future tense

Will + infinitive (= hele ww)

• Beloftes/weigering/voornemens op het moment van spreken: I will help you with your homework. 
• Plan wat tijdens gesprek ontstaan: If it stars raining, we'll go inside, okay?
  
• Voorspellingen gebaseerd op een mening (probably / possibly / I don't think): I don't think they will win the match 
• Na wens/voorspelling/belofte/gedachte: I think that he will phone me

Will + infinitive (= hele ww)

• Belofte/aanbod/voornemen op het moment van spreken: I will help you with your homework. I will call you tomorrow. I will pick up the telephone.
• Gebeurtenis (neutraal): The parcel will arrive next Thursday.
  
• Voorspelling zonder bewijs (I think/probably/possibly): I think they will win the match 
• Na wens/voorspelling/belofte/gedachte: I think/hope/am sure that he will phone me. 

to be (am, is, are)+ going to + infinitive

- Intentie/Plannen zijn al bedacht:

I am going to visit aunt Betsy tomorrow.

- Voorspellingen met bewijs:

Look at all those clouds. It is going to rain soon.

Present Continuous = am, is, are + ww+ ing

Plannen waarvoor de voorbereidingen al gedaan zijn.

We are having dinner at a restaurant at 6.30. (made reservations)

I am flying to Paris next week. (bought the tickets)

Present Simple ww / ww+(e)s

Als er sprake is van vaste tijden (roosters, vertrek/aankomsttijden, openingstijden, starttijden van evenementen):

The stores close at six.

The plane leaves in ten minutes.

School starts at 8.15.

This lesson finishes at 14.00.
