M  is for MAIN IDEA

- The main idea or Topic sentence
- the topic sentence is the first sentence of a paragraph that tells the reader exactly what the subject of the paragraph will be.

What are M.E.A.L. paragraphs?
The idea is that every paragraph is a meal (like food)

A well prepared "meal" is filling and likewise a well prepared MEAL paragraph should be substantial or "filling". 

MEAL paragraphs are the body paragraphs of an article or essay they are not an introduction or conclusion.

- Support your point with evidence -> examples.                In the next one or two sentences, give evidence to expand upon and support the point you made. Evidence can include facts, statistics, research findings, quotes from a credible authority or a primary text
