Upper course - source, waterfall, fast  flowing water, narrow(smal) parts, boulders.

Middle course
wider part, slower flow, 
tributaries (vertakkingen),
small rocks.

Lower course
widest part, flat area,
slowest flow, mouth,
shingle, sand, clay.
