"Genesis" and "catastrophe" are two English words that are imported from ancient Greek.

"Genesis" means "oorsprong" and is the name of the first book of the Old Testament (bijbel), which tells the story of the creation of the world.

"Catastrophe" ("catastrofe") means a terrible disaster.
