Locating places on the globe
To locate the exact position of a place, you need two pieces of information:

  • The latitude: Breedtegraad 
  • The longitude: Lengtegraad

Latitude
Circles of latitude are imaginary horizontal circles around the globe.

The equator:
  • Is a circle of latitude 
  • Divides the Earth in North and South 
  • Is at zero 
  • Everything above the equator is N 
  • Everything below the equator is S

  1. Find the place on the most zoomed in map as possible

  3. Find the latitude. 
  4. Is the place E or W? 
  5. Find the longitude
