Relative Pronouns

Betrekkelijke voornaamwoorden: who, which, that, whose.

Functie: 

• Zinnen aan elkaar koppelen. 
  
• Je verwijst ermee naar personen, dieren of dingen die al eerder genoemd zijn.
  

Relative Pronouns

• Who/that bij personen.
• Which/that bij dieren en dingen.  
• Whose geeft bezit aan. (van wie)

Examples:

The man whose phone I borrowed is my boyfriend. 

The actor who/that gave the interview told us interesting facts.

The monkey which/that ate the banana fell out of the tree. 

This is the car ... I bought in 2018.

This is the man ... broke the window.

She knew the family ... house we bought.
