Bismarck en Wilhelm I tried to make Germany as strong as possible

France also lost a significant piece of land: Alsace-Lorraine

England did not get involved in wars on the mainland. They had a very strong fleet. It was the biggest in EU, the English were very proud of that. They were also a colonial power.

Slide 8 - Tekstslide

Militarism
A strong country also needs a strong military and arm. It was a honour to fight for your country (Johnny?)

War was glorified, it was brave and noble. Highplaced army officials also had political influence.

Who had the strongest fleet, the strongest army, the best industry?
