     DEVELOPMENT SHENZHEN

Slide 20 - Tekstslide

SHENZHEN

Shenzhen's open door policy was a success:
  • From fishing village to mega city (14 million inhabitants)
  • Plenty of cheap labor for simple, labor-intensive products (clothing, toys, etc.)
  • Establishment of large multinational companies (multinationals)

Shenzhen designated in 1980 as the first Special Economic Zone (SEZ)
area where foreign companies are allowed to establish themselves freely and pay little tax.
