Recap Oliver Twist, part 1

Oliver Twist is born in workhouse. His mother dies, so he is an orphan.

He is sent to the workhouse of Mrs Mann, where 25 children hardly get any food or care. When Oliver is 9 he is moved to the workhouse of Mr Bumble. He asks for more food for a friend and is put into a cell until someone will take him as an apprentice. Mr Gamfield takes him in as a chimney sweep. A judge, Mr Limkins, sees Oliver is scared and destroys the deal. Oliver is sold to Mr Sowerberry, un undertaker where he has to make coffins. He has to eat dog food and sleeps among the coffins. Oliver gets into a fight with Noah, who teases him about his mother. Oliver is called a murderer and locked up until Mr Sowerberry comes home and frees him.

The next morning Oliver runs away to seek his fortune in London. He says goodbye to his friend Dick at the workhouse, who gives him his blessing. The nicest thing anyone has ever done for him.
