How to give effective/constructive feedback?
Keep in mind:
what is the goal?
where is the person now? (in relation to the goal)
what can the person do to move forward (towards the goal) Keep it related to the task (don't make it personal) Be specific, but don't give away the answer. Be informative (not just this is good or bad) EX: hamburger method
Slide 7 - Slide
How to receive feedback effectively?
Growth mindset:
Its about growth/development/progress not about performance/achievement
mistakes are opportunities
positive relationships (trust, mutual respect, safe environment) Feedback (even if its good and constructive) can evoke an emotional reaction. It is also up to the receiver to learn how to deal with that.
