What is a Summative C (oral)? 
  • It is an oral assessment in which you will talk and will have a conversation one to one with your teacher about a topic related to the current unit.
  • You will get an image and a legend (phrase) as a prompt (inspiration) and will talk about it for 2-3 minutes

FAQ´s
  • What do I do if I can not speak for 2-3minutes? 

During the first part of the assessment the teacher will ask you for your personal information: name, age, nationality, etc. That way you will speak for a longer time ;)

Then, your teacher will give you time to talk about the prompt (image and legend) and only after you have said all you can, they will ask you more questions to help you reach 2-3 minutes.

  • Do I have to describe the image?

You may, but you do not have to. The legend (phrase) is very important, if the legend says "Mi profesor de inglés es aburrido", you HAVE TO say something about this prompt. Like: "Mi profesor de inglés NO es aburrido, es muy divertido. En clase de inglés hablamos..." After that you can talk about other things related to the topic: favorite subject and/or teacher, your school in general, activities you do in class, etc.

All the questions you should be able to answer by now. Like: 

  1. ¿Cómo te llamas? 
  2. ¿Cuántos años tienes?

  5. ¿Dónde estudias?

Today we are going to practise the criterion C, speaking.
  1. In pairs, choose two images, then think of ten things you can say about those images. 
  2. Then, your classmate will be the teacher and you the student, they will ask you the questions. 
  3. Practice speaking for two-three minutes about the image and prompt and answer also the questions from slide 10 (the questions you can expect from your teacher). Switch rols so your classmate gets also the chance to talk about three images.
