should = zou moeten
must = moeten
have/has (got) to = iets moet van iemand anders

Should

should (+not) + hele werkwoord

jij vindt dat iets (niet) zou moeten.
Je geeft een advies. Je zegt dat het goed is om iets te doen, maar het is niet verplicht

You should try that icecream, it's delicious

You should brush your teeth

Must

Must (+not) + hele werkwoord

jij vindt dat iets (niet) moet.
Must is krachtiger dan should.

You must check the tyres.
You mustn't buy that game. It's a waste of money.

Have (got) to

has/have (got) to + hele werkwoord

Iets moet van iemand anders, niet van jou.

Je geeft een noodzaak, zekerheid of verplichting aan.

Mum says I have to do the dishes.
You have to turn off your phone in class.

Have to in ontkenningen

Als je have to in ontkennende zinnen gebruikt, dan verandert de betekenis van 'moeten' in 'niet hoeven'.
