Tempo is the speed at which a particular piece of music is played. Tempo is generally indicated at the start of the piece of music, often using conventional Italian terms, and it is measured in Beats Per Minute (BPM).
In music, the dynamics of a piece is the variation in loudness between notes or phrases.
Traditionally in Western music, a musical tone is a steady periodic sound. A musical tone is characterized by its duration, pitch, intensity (or loudness), and timbre (or quality).
