Future tenses 
Present simple :

  • Future: We use the present simple when we're talking about things that happen according to a time table
  • Other: we use present simple for facts and habits

Present simple :

  • The train arrives at 08:03 AM.                        (future /time table)
  • School starts at 08:20 AM.                              (future /time table)
  • We always have dinner at 6 pm                     (habit)
  • Do you usually do your homework?            (asking about habits)

Present continuous :

  • Future: we use present continuous when we're talking about things that are arranged in time and/or place
  • Other: we use present continuous for things which are going on now
  • Form of to be + verb + -ing

Present continuous :
  • We are having a meeting next week.          (future/ arranged)
  • The interns are leaving after the break.     (future /arranged)
  • We are working on the present continuous today (right now / activity)
  • We are always learning about tenses - it is so boring (habit, but now you are annoyed)

Present simple forms:
- I work; he works
- I do not work ; he does not work
- Do you work? Or do you still study? 
Present continuous forms
- I am working; he is working
- I am not working; he is not working
- Are you working?
