Reading Strategies

• Previewing the text
• Skimming and scanning
• Guessing meaning from context
• Looking at the questions asked 
• Making predictions of what the answers could be

Listening Strategies

• Start thinking of things you already know about the topic.
• Make guesses about what you learn as you listen.
• As you listen, listen for answers to questions you have. Also, what words you might already know.
• Take notes. Writing notes help you remember ideas.
• Re-listen. Generally, when it is hard to find the answer, listen to the audio again.

Form groups of 2

1 person is going to start to talking about a subject for 1 minute while the other is listening and after 1 minute the person who was listening will take over where the person who was talking left off.
