How do you say it in English?

The time

Telling the time
Het is kwart over 3.

1. It's a quater to 3.
2. It's a quater past 3.

Telling the time:
Het is 5 voor 9.

1. It's 5 past 9.
2. It's 55 past 8.
3. It's 5 to 9.

Speaking

In a minute, you are going to talk to each other about time. When I say so, you are going to grab your book and look for the speaking cards. In pairs, do ex. 3A. you are going to need the cards on page 260 & 264.

- Taking turns, one of you will say the time that is on one of the clocks on your speaking card

- Both of you will, separately, write down how you would write that time. 

- Once you are both done, compare your answers

- Do this until you have had every clock.
