PRESENT CONTINUOUS

Onderwerp (ow) + to be (am / are / is) + werkwoord (ww) + ing

Slide 2 - Slide

PRESENT CONTINUOUS
Onderwerp (ow) + to be (am / are / is) + werkwoord (ww) + ing

PRESENT CONTINUOUS

  • I am living in Seattle (live).
  • My daughter is baking a pie (bake).
  • My friend is making dinner (make).

PRESENT CONTINUOUS

  • They are lying to me (lie).
  • James is tying his shoelaces (tie).

PRESENT CONTINUOUS

  • Lars is travelling across Denmark (travel).
  • The prioners are rebelling against the guards (rebel).

PRESENT CONTINUOUS
Bij werkwoorden die eindigen op één klinker (a, e, i, o, u) en medeklinker, voeg je een medeklinker toe.

  • I am swimming (swim).
  • Lydia is chatting with Mike (chat).
  • Mike is dipping his fries in hot sauce (dip).
  • It is beginning to make sense (begin).

  • It is snowing (snow).
  • Dad is fixing my bike (fix).

Als we vragen willen maken met de present continuous, zetten we de vorm van to be (am / are / is) vooraan de zin.

De formule wordt dan: to be (am / are / is) + ow + ww + ing

  • Is Carl watching television?
  • Is Diana playing with her toys?
  • Is Jake driving around in his car?

Als we ontkenningszinnen willen maken met de present continuous, zetten we not achter de vorm van to be.
