Some - Any

• 'Some' gebruik je in normale/bevestigende zinnen

   

 There are some students in the classroom.

• 'Any' gebruik je in ontkenningen of vragen

   

    Unfortunately, I don’t have any time today

You can't buy any chips in this store

    Is there anything which I can do?

Much - many

• 'Much' gebruik je voor dingen die niet telbaar zijn

   

Much money, much stuff, much work

Much - many

• 'Many' gebruik je voor dingen die wel telbaar zijn

   

Many things, many boys, many books

Je kunt deze dingen in het meervoud zetten en er een -S achter plakken

Much - many

Let op de volgende situatie:

My mother drinks much coffee

My mother drinks many cups of coffee

In de eerste zin gebruik je 'much' want coffee kun je niet tellen/in het meervoud zetten. Bij de tweede zin gebruik je 'many' want cups kun je wel tellen en in het meervoud zetten.
