What is an adverb?

Een 'adverb' (bijwoord) is een omschrijvend woord dat iets zegt over een 'verb'(werkwoord) ,  een bijvoeglijk naamwoord of een ander bijwoord in de zin.

bijvoorbeeld:

That music is loud --> He is talking loudly

Please be quiet. --> and whisper quietly

Spellingsuitzonderingen!

• woord eindigt op -le  ->   -ly            terrible -> terribly  

• woord eindigt op medekl. +y    ->    -ily            easy -> easily  

• woord eindigt op -ic -> -ically            fantastic -> fantastically 

Let op!

Na de werkwoorden to be, to seem, to feel, to look, to smell, to sound en to taste gebruik je een bijvoeglijk naamwoord.
