We are going to read an English book together !
  • Why? Reading is an important skill in English, you train this skill by reading a book.
  •  Reading a book also helps with gaining speed and expanding your vocabulary and general knowledge.
  • When? Choose the book, borrow it in the library, bring the book to each class from now on and make sure you have finished reading it on 23 november 2022.

Adjectives and Adverbs

An adjective says something about a noun.

Beyoncé is a                sexy                lady.
                                     adjective            noun

An adverb says something about a verb.

He         talked         nervously.
            verb              adverb

adverb = adjective + ly

adjective:    the beautiful girl
adverb:         she sings beautifully

    adverb:       ily (easily)

With some verbs  you don't use an adverb but an adjective. 
to be (zijn), to seem , to feel , to smell , 
to sound , to taste, to look

Het ruikt vreselijk. - It smells terrible.

Some adjectives have a different adverb:
He is a good boy. - He studies well.

Sometimes it stays the same:
Bij fast, long, fair, low, high
That is a fast car. - It drives fast
