Let op: 

- Bij werkwoorden die eindigen op -e vervalt de -e:

make - making

use - using

have - having

- Als er een korte klinker voor de laatste letter staat verdubbelt deze:

stop - stopping

let - letting

When?

Je gebruikt de present continuous:

- als iets op dit moment bezig is

- iemand iets aan het doen is

- als je wil vertellen dat je iets gaat doen in de toekomst

examples

I am doing homework. 

My dad is making dinner.

We are listening to music. 

Daisy is studying for a test.

They are playing football. 

What are you doing?

Questions

Zet de vorm van to be vooraan in de zin:

Are you watching TV?

Is John sleeping?

Are they playing video games? 

Negations

Zet not achter de vorm van to be. Je mag ook de afkorting gebruiken:

Patty is not drinking coffee.

I'm not working on a project at the moment.

He is not reading a book right now.

They aren't having lunch.
