1. Point
You start with the main point/argument of the paragraph.

Thesis statement: WHAT
Although the book shows only Harry’s journey to fight the dark lord, Harry would never have defeated him without the help of Hermoine.
Argument: WHY
Hermione helps Harry to defeat the “Dark Lord” by using her knowledge from her books.

2. Evidence
Argument: 
Hermione helps Harry to defeat the “Dark Lord” by using her knowledge from her books.

Give evidence (bewijs) from the book to show that you know what you're talking about:
Hermione helped to find who “Nicholas …” was, the creator of the philosopher’s stone.

3. Explain
Evidence:
Hermione helped to find who “Nicholas …” was, the creator of the philosopher’s stone.

Explain = why does this evidence prove your argument?
The example shows that Hermione is smart and can recall information quickly, which is important to Harry’s quest.

Thesis statement:

Paragraph argument:
