  • Iets is in het verleden is gebeurd en is nu afgelopen. 
  • Signaalwoorden: yesterday, a week ago, last month, in 2004, this morning.

Verleden tijd in duurvorm (was / were + werkwoord + ing)

  • I was waiting at the bus stop. 
  • (Ik was op de bus aan het wachten.)








  • Je gebruikt de duurvorm (of ing-vorm) vorm in de verleden tijd om aan te geven dat iets op een bepaald moment een tijdje aan de gang was.
  • Vaak gebeurde er nog iets.
