     How to write a postcard?

          So, you begin with...

 'Dear (name)' or 'Hello' or "Hi"

Then write about some of these things:

• What you have done       (I've been to see The Tower of London and I've been on a ferry down The River Thames. I've eaten the best fish and chips in the whole of Britain!)

Past simple:

Past Simple?

      When you write a postcard:

When you write a postcard, you often write about things you have already experienced. 

So you write in the past tense. In English we call this the "Past Simple".

     How to make the "Past Simple:

• By putting -ed after the verb
• This rule applies to the regular verbs.

Attention!

There are also irregular verbs and these do not get an -ed at the end:

  

These verbs change and so you must learn them by heart!

Je gebruikt de Past Simple als ...

1. ...iets in het verleden aan de gang was
2. ...iets is gebeurd en/of afgerond is
3. ...iets op dit moment gebeurt
4. ...iets is begonnen en je er nog last van hebt

Future:

Intentions:

We use be going to to talk about future plans and intentions. 

Usually the decision about the future plans has already been made:

• She’s going to be a professional dancer when she grows up.
  
• I’m going to look for a new place to live next month.

Predictions

We use be going to to predict something that we think is certain to happen or which we have evidence for now:

• It’s going to snow again soon. (The speaker can probably see dark snow clouds.)
  
• Look out! He’s going to break that glass.

Plans:

We have usually made our plans before the moment of speaking.

A: We've run out of milk. 

B: I know, I'm going to buy some.

Toekomst (will or won't)

Will: Gebruiken wij als wij de willen aangeven dat             iets nog gaat gebeuren.

Example: I will go to school tomorrow.

Won't: Gebruiken wij als wij de willen aangeven dat             iets niet gaat gebeuren.

Example: I won't go to school tomorrow.

Opbouw toekomst!

Persoonlijk voornaamwoord + will / won't + hele werkwoord.
