Prepositions of place

Prepositions of place (voorzetsels van plaats) are used to show the position or location of one thing in relation to another.

Other prepositions

across   (tegenover)           The house is across the street.

outside  (buiten)                  You can only smoke outside the building.

within     (binnen)                 The house is within walking distance of the beach.

at              (op)                           I am usually at school during Weekdays.

What is the difference between "under" and "below"?

• Gebruik "under" bij een plek direct onder iets of als er iets of iemand bedekt is. 
• Gebruik "below" voor een plek op een lager niveau dat niet direct "onder" is.

What's the difference between "among" and "between?

The ball is between the boxes.

The ball is among the boxes.

Gebruik "between" voor tweetallen.

Gebruik "among" alleen voor groepen groter dan twee.
