Skimming a text:

• Look at title, sub title and pictures
• Read something quickly and not very carefully
• Read the first (and last sentence) of a paragraph
• Gives you an idea about the text

Scanning a text

To find particular information:

• a number
• a date
• a price
• a word (name, place)

Read intensively

Read every word to make sure you understand the whole text
