Lesson objectives
You know what caused fascism and National Socialism to grow.
How could Adolf Hitler come to power.
You know why France and England declared war on Germany.

Germany
Many german men fought in the war, and were bitter and disappointed.
They blamed the communists, the government and the jews for the loss of WW I.
Germany was in a economic crisis because of the
Treaty of Versailles.
One of these disappionted soldiers was Adolf Hitler.

National Socialism
In 1919 Hitler joinded the National Socialist German Labourers Party, the NSDAP or
Nazi Party.
It's fascism, plus racism.

Rise to power.
His party the NSDAP won the elections of 1933.
But...he still had to work together. Something he did not want to do.
The Reichstag went up in flames and Hitler blamed the communists.
Hitler became dictator!
