You say that in any field you will be more successful if you have learned English, but I think that there are plenty of field in which you don’t need to know English. / Balazs I disagree with you. I think it would be good to expect from everyone to learn English. In my opinion, everybody should at least have some basic knowledge of the language, because everyone will be in a situation in which you need it. If everyone knows some English, everyone can benefit from that.

– fadir – father – …….. In Middle English there used to be an ‘d’ where a sound like a ‘d’ was heard, but in Early Modern English the ‘d’ has been replaced by ‘th’.
- heuenes – heauen …….. In Middle English some verbs would end with the letter combination ‘es’, which seems to derive from Germanic. In Early Modern English, however, the ending was changed to ‘en’.

- nama – name …….. In Old English English there used to be an ‘a’ at the end, but the final ‘a’ has been lost and replaced with an ‘e’.
- kyndoom – kingdom - …….. In Middle English an ‘y’ used to be written for a vowel that sounded like an ‘i’, but it has been replaced by an ‘i’.
- wille – will …….. In Middle English there used to be an ‘e’ at the end of certain nouns, but the final ‘e’ has been lost in Early Modern English.
