Most of the life goals Chris set for himself worked out, such as living his life as he wanted to. Travelling, discovering new places, meeting people. He also learned plenty of new things, for example driving a combine harvester.

However, Chris did at one point work for McDonald's, which is a big company. Also, he lied about his real name to the people he met on his travels.
