Adjective

says something about a noun.

Beyoncé is a    sexy         lady.

Adverb

says something about

1. a verb 

                     He talked nervously.

2. an adjective 

         She was an incredibly angry lady

                   He paints extremely quickly

Adjective

• strong
• ends with +e : terrible
  
• medeklinker +l : beautiful
• medeklinker +y : easy 
• ends with -ic : fantastic

adjective + ly = adverb 

• stongly
• terribly
  
• -lly :     beautifully
• -ily :     easily
• -ally : fantastically 

Adjective

Some have a different adverb:

He is a good boy.

Sometimes it stays the same:

Bij fast, long, fair, low, high

That is a fast car.

He studies well.

It drives fast.

Prefixes =  voorvoegsel

a group of letters 

added to the beginning of a word. 

changing the meaning of a word

agree (het eens zijn)                disagree (het oneens zijn)

                       understand (begrijpen)            misunderstand (verkeerd begrijpen) visible (zichtbaar)                         invisible (onzichtbaar)

usual (gewoon)                            unusual (ongewoon)

Suffixes = achtervoegsel

a group of letters 

added to the end of a word

used to change the function of a word

turning a noun into an adjective 

an adjective into an adverb

      noun > adjective:          My gran has good health. My gran is healthy.

                                                      There wasn't any danger. It wasn't dangerous.

adjective > adverb:        He was very quick. He walked very quickly.

                                             I am happy to help. I will happily help you.
