Facts (feiten) -> things that are simply/always that way

Habits (gewoonte)-> things you are used to

Signalwords: Usually / normally / every.... / often / never / sometimes 

Verbs

With the present simple we use the 'stem of the verb' or the I form

We make the I form by taking 'to' away. 

to eat -> I eat

She / he / it -> get an S behind the verb

Something is going on as we speak

Signal words: Shhh! / look! / right now / as we speak / now 

 

Present continuous

To form a present continuous sentence: 

Am / are / is + verb + ing

We are enjoying the sun

You are listening to the explanation 

I am explaining the present continuous tense again.

Signal Words​

Present simple	Present continuous
always, every day/week/month/year, never, often, sometimes and usually	now, today, at the moment, right now, always, Look! and Listen!

Past Simple recap

De past simple is de simpele verleden tijd. Deze vorm gebruik je als iets in het verleden is gebeurd en nu ook is afgelopen. Vaak staat er een tijdsaanduiding in de zin.

I walked to school yesterday.

She bought a new phone last week. 

Hoe maak je de Past Simple?

De past simple kun je op 2 manieren maken. Dit heeft te maken met het soort werkwoord.

I talk        -   I talked

I make    -   I made

Let op!!!

Werkwoorden die eindigen op een -e die krijgen alleen +d

Live = lived

Werkwoorden die eindigen op -y krijgen +ied

Cry = cried 

Werkwoorden die eindigen op een klinker en een -l daarbij verdubbel je de l

Cancel = cancelled
Drop=Dropped

*onregelmatige ww hebben eigen vorm (= leren)
