Subject questions

• What was a subject question? 
• what is the subject of a sentence?
• answer: the noun doing the thing in the sentence
• subject questions are questions in which the answer will be the subject of the sentence

IMPORTANT: In a subject question you don't use auxiliary verbs like 'do' or 'did'

TRICK: if you can replace the first word of a question sence with the answer, it's a subject question

Past perfect simple a.k.a: 'had' 

When do we use it?

When there are two things in the past, one before the other. 

The action that happened first gets the past perfect

How does it look?

It had rained all night so the roads were very wet

When we got the station, the train had already left

When do you use 'had'?

2. when there are two tings in the past
3. when something happens now
4. when something is in the past and something is in the present
