How do you use the past simple
  • Regular past simple forms are formed by adding -ed to the verb
start --> started
  • If a verb end with -e, you add -d
agree --> agreed
  • If a verb ends with a vowel (klinker) and a consonant (medeklinker), the consonant (medeklinker) is usually doubled before -ed.
stop --> stopped
  • If a verb ends in consonant (medeklinker) and -y, you take off the y and add -ied.
play --> played
