Elements of a Short Story:

Characters: Who is in the story?

Setting: Where and when does the story take place?

Plot: What happens in the story?

Conflict: What is the main problem or challenge?

Resolution: How is the problem solved?

Now it's time to write your own story!

• Start with a setting.
• Then design your characters.
• What is happening? plot + conflict/problem
• Write the solution/ ending. 
• Time: till end of class!

Ask 1 question about something you haven't quite understood yet.

The students indicate here (in question form) with which part of the material they still have difficulty. For the teacher, this not only provides insight into the extent to which the students understand/master the material, but also a good starting point for the next lesson.
