Present Perfect
A state of affairs is described as being relative to the present time
In other words, something that started in the past but is still relevant in the present. (Signal words: just, already, yet; for and since)
For example,
I have lived in the Netherlands for over thirty-five years.
Look whether you can use the word 'al' in your translation to Dutch.

Ik woon al meer dan vijfendertig jaar in Nederland.
