Definitions
  • verb - werkwoord
  • conjugate - werkwoord vervoegen
  • noun - zelfstandig naamwoord (mensen, dieren, dingen, namen)
  • pronoun - persoonlijke voornaamwoorden (ik, jij, hij enz.)
  • present - het heden
  • future - de toekomst
  • past - het verleden
  • plural - meervoud
  • singular - enkelvoud

  • to be (zijn) is the most important verb in the English language
  • make sure you know it by heart

The possessive (genetive)
  • Possession means: bezit or eigendom in Dutch
  • The possessive is about something belonging to someone
  • We add the 's behind the owner (name or a noun)
  • We use just the ' if the owner already ends with an s

  • Do not confuse it with plural nouns in Dutch like pony - pony's. The plural form of pony in English is ponies
