Conditional sentences: sentences with 'if' in the clause (bijzin)

Rules:

Present simple in IF sentence = use WILL in main sentence

If you jump on your bike now you will be on time!

Past simple in IF sentence = use WOULD in main sentence

Wat would you do if I gave you a million euros?

Rules:

When information in IF sentence is not factual/really true, use WERE as a verb in the IF sentence

I wouldn't buy that bike if I were you

It would have been great if she were here too

General truths? Do not use will or would used.

The light goes on if you enter the classroom

Sometimes you can use other auxiliary verbs  such as SHOULD or CAN to express more powerfully
