What do we add to make a comparison?

+ more (adjective stays in it's orginal form) than

+ the most (adjective in it's original form)

I am good at tennis but Jenny is better than me. However, John is the best player.
Good - better - best

I am bad at tennis but Sue is worse than me. However, Tom is the worst player ever. 
Bad - worse - worst

old, young, tall, short, happy, funny, beautiful, strong, attractive

Write down 3 comparisons and 3 superlatives about people in your family. Show your sentences to your neighbour.

In groups of 4
  • Use the flashcards to make comparisons. 
  • One person makes a comparison, the next person starts with the last item mentioned and makes a new comparison. 
  • Continue doing this so that everyone makes 2 comparisons.

Example: Person 1 - A mouse is smaller than an elephant. 
Person 2 - An elephant is heavier than a cat.
Person 3 - A cat is.........
