what is the difference?

to be going to - when

something will definitely happen somewhere soon

- you are sure you are going to do something

- you are sure something is going to happen

to be going to - when

in Dutch you often use the verb 'gaan'

I am going to visit my grandma in hospital.

I have read in the papers that it is going to rain tonight.

1. prediction based on your own personal opinion or knowledge.

when doing a suggestion you can use shall:

use the right form: will/going to
