In class I noticed that not all of you had done their preparation; because of this I'm going to tell those who didn't learn the vocabulary (lesson 26 and/or 27) to do so before going on.  Trust me: you're going to need this knowledge in the skills tests that are yet to come!

Those who kept up with their homework can carry on now: you're into the subject of crime and punishment, and law and justice, which in themselves are interesting and exciting topics. 

• finish lesson 29 (reading) that you started in class and check your answers ( ex. 34-35/34-36) with the key on the next slides (slide 2 = Green/ slide 3 = Blue)                                                                  If you already did this in class, please go to slide 5

• read XY lesson 27 and do WB ex. 17/ WB ex. 17 (check yourself, see keys slides 6 and 7.
• turn to CB pp. 86-89 and read The Box of Escapes 
• do WB p. 163, ex. 41/ WB p. 168, ex. 42. Take care to answer in full sentences (in Dutch because the questions are in Dutch, too) and write sufficient information. Mind: your reading test will consist of these kind of questions as well and if answers are too short/incomplete they will be considered incorrect!!
• check your answers with the keys on slides 8 and 9.

Sometimes I’d rather be living on the other side of the world (myself).                                       3 My advice to you is ... Unless you’re going to hurt someone more by telling the truth, then you should do it. Telling a little white lie is forgivable from time to time. Honesty is the best policy.

1 Er komt een Amerikaanse journalist op bezoek en de gevangenisautoriteiten willen een goede indruk maken.  (beide elementen moeten in het antwoord zitten)

2 Als ze iets lezen over de slechte omstandigheden in Russische gevangenissen  hoeven ze alleen maar de schouders op te halen. Als het Amerikaanse gevangenissen zouden zijn, zouden ze er ook iets aan moeten doen. 

3 Hij is van haar gescheiden toen ze op de vlucht waren tijdens een oorlog.              4 Het zevende vakje staat voor zijn zevende en laatste ontsnapping die hij nog van plan is uit te voeren.

5 Ze krijgen liever iets waar ze iets aan hebben.                                                                    6 Hij wil van de Amerikaan dat hij zijn moeder vindt.                                                          7 Hij krijgt alleen maar een foto van zijn moeder, omdat zij overleden is.
