- als je een zelfstandig naamwoord wilt herhalen in de zin. Eerst komt het zelfstandig naamwoord en daarna one/ones.

example: You've got big problems and small ones.

- om antwoord te geven op een vraag.

example: "Which skirt are you buying? The white one."

One of ones?

One > enkelvoud

Ones > meervoud

Het hangt er van af of het zelfstandig naamwoord dat je vervangt in het enkelvoud of meervoud staat. Let dus goed op de zin !

Zelfstandige naamwoorden kunnen concrete zaken aanduiden, zoals mensen (man, Ineke), dieren (paard) en dingen (huis, hout). Maar het kunnen ook plaatsen zijn (Den Haag, Frankrijk) en abstracte zaken als gevoelens (liefde), tijdsruimten (dag), eigenschappen (grootte), gebeurtenissen (botsing) en denkbeeldige personen of zaken (elf, Luilekkerland).
